Diabetes - know your status

People must know what diabetes is and its effects on the body. Do you know your status?

Unfortunately, there are many thousands upon thousands of people world-wide who do not know that they are suffering from diabetes, because they are still asymptomatic. The bottom line is , get tested as soon as possible if you do not know your status.

Diabetes Type 1 normally present in children. Children who are always thirsty and who urinate frequently need to be tested. Sometimes bed wetting may also occur.

In adults Diabetes Type 2 normally present. It is also referred to as adult-onset or a lifestyle disease. It is mainly caused by an unhealthy lifestyle and habits. Who are risk the most? People who are overweight or obese, who live stressful lives, and those with a family history of diabetes. Being unfit or living a sedentary lifestyle is also a major contributing factor.

The bottom line is: get tested today!

Diabetes is a very debilitating disease and often lead to loss in vision, heart attacks, kidney failure, amputations or fatal diabetic coma. In most cases people become aware of their condition when they suddenly suffer from blurred vision, or when they develop excruciating thirst. By then serious damage could be done already to the eyes and kidneys.

 Therefore you need to know your status, so that you can manage your blood sugar level and prevent further future health complications.
